Show Up Comedy- solo show in Karinthy Szalon Budapest

All are welcome to the solo exhibition Show Up Comedy. The exhibition will be opened by Róbert Puzsér on Tuesday, 6 May 2025 at 18:00. The exhibition explores slices of identity, one important layer of which is our Eastern European identity. The visual material is complemented by a Liszt piece by pianist Apor Szüts.

“I am fascinated by brain research. From time to time I read a book or an article on the functioning of the nervous system. On one such occasion, I discovered that there is an area of the brain (insula) that performs the function that Art does in the human community: self-observation, labelling and sorting out what is important, typically selected along emotional lines (salience).
That’s what the creative person does: he assembles a “pile of important things”, but it becomes art when a community (by the same method) validates this pile.
That’s the pile you see here, which I’ve titled Show Up Comedy, because like a standup show, I’ve summarized my observations, philosophizing, and experiences, not exactly avoiding the devices of humor.”

The exhibition will be open until 29 May 2025, during the opening hours of the Karinthy Salon (Monday to Friday 12-18).
